Finely patterned craquelure throughout, with a few scattered instances of more pronounced pigment separation; stabilized beneath the varnish layer. Some instances of retouching can be seen upon close inspection under raking light due to variation in surface sheen. Minor surface dirt and dust. Not examined out of frame due to size.
Under UV: varnish fluoresces green. Some brushy retouching to the shadows bordering the figure of the cat. More finely applied retouching to the shadows of the cat's eyes. A few scattered small areas of brushy retouching at edges and in the background. Extensive but very finely applied dots and dashes of retouching in the background to address craquelure.
