Sheet 1 from the portfolio “Die Hölle” (Hell). Printed by C. Naumann's Druckerei, Frankfurt am Main. Published by I.B. Neumann, Berlin, autumn 1919. [AW].
- Rare print from the first printing state. - Title page of the portfolio “Die Hölle” (Hell), in which Beckmann addresses his experiences during World War I. - The lithographic cycle is considered a key work in his graphic oeuvre, and copies can be found in important collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
