- Large, radiant watercolor from the 1960s, when Polke increasingly explored astrological and alchemical themes in his art. - Polke's wit and spontaneity are heightened by the reference to scientific topics. - The Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid hosted a major retrospective from November 2024 to March 2025.
We are grateful to Mr. Michael Trier for his kind assistance.

Good overall impression. Shows crease marks overall and has some handling marks in places. Small tears along the edges, some professionally reinforced. A larger reinforced tear in the left edge of the sheet and another reinforced tear in the bottom edge. The lower margin also shows isolated skinned spots, visible from the recto only against the light, as well as a small missing section in the lower left corner, which has been reinforced. Overall, there is slight uneven browning and scattered small brown spots, more so in the upper part of the image.
