Selbst schon zur Ware der amerikanischen Konsumgesellschaft geworden, werden auch die Stars, einem industriellen Massenprodukt vergleichbar, der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Warhol legt seinen "Mick Jagger"-Blättern eigene Fotos zugrunde und kombiniert sie mit zeichnerischen Elementen und Collage-Effekten. Wie die anderen Porträts von der Hand Warhols besitzen sie die bildnerische Kraft von Ikonen, die im Gedächtnis bleiben. Als er das "Mick Jagger"-Portfolio gestaltet, überträgt der Künstler die Collagetechnik - nämlich Farbflächen wie Papierstreifen über die eigentliche Darstellung zu legen - erst seit kurzer Zeit auf die Technik der Serigrafie. Erstmals in seinem Œuvre kombiniert er bei diesen Blättern in den Druckvorlagen Foto, Collage und gezeichnete Linie.

In good condition. This artist’s proof shows slight printing irregularities in the black print image in the lower part of the hair (right and left). There is a minimal paper flaw in the centre of the right margin, as well as a few barely noticeable handling creases along the top edge of the sheet.
