• Papileo is Feininger’s nickname, used by his friends and family. Feingener’s “Ghosties” were neither exhibited nor sold, but given away exclusively as gifts.
• Works by Lyonel Feingener are held in numerous major international collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Centre Pompidou, Paris; the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main; and the Sprengel Museum, Hanover.
