Technique: 2 colour silkscreens on thin card as well as 1 card coated with gold foil and topped with gold leaf. Accompanied by the exhibition catalogue "Yves Klein - Monochrome und Feuer".
Measurement: Each: 32 x 24 cm.


The artist created this triptych for his first solo exhibition in Germany at the Museum Haus Lange in Krefeld from 14th January to 26th February 1961, and is a supplement to the exhibition catalogue.

The blue and pink panels are silkscreens; the gold panel is a piece of cardboard coated on one side with metal foil, onto which three pieces of gold leaf have been fixed with adhesive in a way that their edges move or flutter away with each breeze. Yves Klein applied the gold leaf to each individual piece of cardboard himself, making every gold panel a unique work. The catalogue itself was produced using letterpress printing.



Condition:
Silkscreens: Isolated white deposits. Blue with minimal rubbings. Gold foil: Gold leaf mostly lost, scratch marks. Each: Corners and edges minimally bumped. Verso each slightly discoloured and with minimal foxing; 2 leaves with fingerprints. Catalogue: Edges are slightly discoloured, minor black accretions and traces of wear as well as slightly stained cover. Otherwise, the edition is in good condition.
