Herbert Bayer (Austrian, 1900-1985) Morning in Paris, 1925 Gelatin silver print, printed later by Jonathan Bayer (Bayer's stepson and Estate Executor) 13-1/2 x 9-1/4 inches (34.3 x 23.5 cm) (image/sheet) 20 x 16 inches (mount) Accompanied by a smaller gelatin silver print of the image (greetings card) signed and inscribed Happy Holidays, All the best for 2004 in ink. Print: Neutral toned print on semi-gloss paper, trimmed to edges and mounted on modern archival board. Few small "zig-zag" shaped, fine surface scratches, visible in a raking light only. A beautiful print of Bayer's wonderful image, in very good condition overall. Sold unmatted and unframed. Card: neutral toned print on semi-gloss paper with narrow margins, mounted on Arches type paper (this folded to create a greetings card.) One or two very shallow linear indentations across surface, visible under closest inspection only. In very good condition.
