The dedicatee of Between Dark and Light was Eline Holst McKnight, a painter, printmaker, and pastel artist of Dutch descent who lived in Yokohama and New York. She met Fritz Winter and his first wife, Margarete Schreiber-Rüffer, through fellow artists Virginia and Paul Fontaine in the early 1950s. Presents well. Small abrasion to lower left region near extreme edge; faint horizontal abrasions to upper right region, observed under raking light. Some light faint scattered scratches, observed under raking light. One small area of loss at upper left. Very minor tear to lower center edge. Framed under glass. Not framed.
