Executed circa 1978, this Electric Chair is one of a small number of impressions. It revisits a subject Warhol first introduced in 1963 as part of his Death and Disaster series. By the late 1970s, Warhol was looking back at his earlier work through his Retrospective series, using images that had become closely identified with him as the starting point for new works. This print belongs to that period of renewed interest in his own imagery. HID12401132022 © 2026 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
